PHOSPHENISM AND
THE PREPARATION FOR INITIATORY TRAININGS

3rd CHAPTER

Thoughts are the first subjective sensations that we are conscious of. We are the only witness of our own thoughts. The fact that an individual's thoughts are not perceptible by others make certain behavior scientists state that individuals only react to outer stimuli, rather than to their own will. It seems that these "builders of theory" have never taken into account their own personal experiences.

We are seldom used to focus our attention on the content of our thoughts. We rarely care or judge them harshly. But we know very little, if not nothing at all, about the rules that govern the behavior of thoughts. Thoughts are organized by the rhythms of the brain ; they become richer in a fantastic way if we let them evolve according to their nature, i.e. if we do not try to restrict them by understanding them in a mechanical way. Few people know how to keep their thoughts flexible, as their evolution is often disturbing.

In order to go further, we must learn to observe how our thoughts behave, and discover that they are not limited to what people usually know. The properties of thoughts can take us to the threshold of an extremely rich subjective universe. For an introductory approach, the following tests will help you to observe some of these characteristics.

Foreword : The purpose of these tests is to learn how to let yourself be carried by the sensations in order to amplify the phenomena, and to go from a stricly mental exercise to the perception of subjective sensations. Too often, beginners try to practice these techniques without knowing what to expect from them, and worse, without being able to recognize the phenomena. To avoid these problems, these tests will help you getting used to delve in a truly subjective universe, with its surprising nuances and richness. These tests are a means rather than an end.

The following tests are organized as a kind of experiment that will enable you, if you play the game, to estimate your potential with experiences or with the path of initiation.

You should first make sure you have enough time to complete the tests (the first part : observing thoughts, can take between 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete. The same is true for the second part : mental sounds)
There is no point starting this test if that condition is not fulfilled ;
Take a piece of paper and a pen to write down your observations ;
When you are finished, you can go to the "evaluation" link in the "members" page to find out your potential.

How do you evaluate your answers to the test ?

0% = Are you sure you want to go on with this practice ? You should really think it over.

25% = This type of practice is difficult for you. You will enjoy some phenomena once in a while though, but their evolution will probably prove difficult. Take some time to study the basics of Phosphenism again. (reading "The initiation of Pietro" and "Homologies" or following a formation workshop would help you).

50% = You are limiting yourself to the practice of the exercises, take time to observe what happens after each exercise.

75% = You are doing well. After each exercise, spend as much time observing the rhythms that appear in your "visual chaos (aura)" and let yourself be carried by your own cerebral rhythms.

85% = You have real potential. Persist in the study of Phosphenism, keep maintaining your physiological rhythms (mental and physical) : results will happen quickly.

More than 85% = Your sharp sense of observation will surely lead you to the awakening of your abilities...

THE RESULTS OF THE TESTS ARE IN THE MY ACCOUNT PAGE IN THE CONFIRMED LEVEL SECTION

  18. Keep a mental sound in your mind, in a continuous fashion.
  19. Repeat a short phrase in your mind for a few minutes.

Take care to throughly read each question.

Test n°1 : Miniaturize a mental image towards the infinitely small, then let it go.

Make sure you do this in a dark room.

Then, with your eyes closed, imagine a circle becoming smaller and smaller until it becomes a small ball. At this point, imagine the ball shrinks until it becomes a dot.

When you have reduced it to the size of a pinhead (this cycle can take a couple of minutes), let go of your concentration and passively observe what happens in your field of vision for roughly a minute. Do the exercise again 5 or 6 times. Write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 2 : Expand a mental image towards the infinitely big, then let it go.

Make sure you do this in a dark room.
Then, with your eyes closed, imagine a circle that grows bigger and bigger until it becomes a large ball.
At this point, expand the diameter of the ball up to the limits of your imagination.

For example : Imagine a sphere that grows, fills the room, expands beyond the room, beyond your house or apartment, spreading in the sky like radio waves going towards the sun, then towards other planets : as far as you imagination can take it.

When you believe you have reached a maximum (the whole cycle can take a couple of minutes), let go of your concentration and passively observe what happens in your field of vision for roughly a minute. Do the exercise 5 or 6 times. Then write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 3 : Miniaturize a mental image towards the infinitely small, in a continuous fashion.

Make sure you do this exercise in a dark room.
Then, with your eyes closed, imagine a circle becoming smaller and smaller until it becomes a small ball. At this point, reduce the diameter of the ball until it becomes a smaller and smaller dot of light.

When you believe the dot has reached the size of a pinhead, MAINTAIN your concentration for a few seconds.
When the image is but a tiny dot in your imagination, maintain the effort for a few seconds making sure you keep the image infinitely small
(the whole cycle can take up to 3 minutes).

Then let go of your concentration and passively observe what happens in your field of vision for roughly a minute.
Do the exercise 5 or 6 times. Then, write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 4 : Expand a mental image towards the infinite, in a continuous fashion.

Like for the previous exercise, practice in a dark room.
With your eyes closed, imagine a circle expanding more and more until it becomes an immense ball.
At this point, expand the diameter of the ball until it becomes gigantic.

When you think you have expanded the diameter enough, MAINTAIN your concentration for a few seconds. When the image has reached its maximum possible dilation, maintain your effort for a few seconds making sure you keep the image as big as possible (the whole cycle can take up to 3 minutes).

Then release your concentration and passively observe what happens in your field of vision for roughly a minute.
Do the exercise 5 or 6 times. Then, write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 5 : Maintain an alternation between infinitely small and infinitely big.

This exercise follows the same principle as n°1.2.3.4.:
Make sure you practice in a dark room.
Then with your eyes closed, imagine a circle that shrinks smaller and smaller until it becomes a little ball. At this point, reduce the diameter of the ball until it becomes a tiny dot of light.

When you believe you have reduced it to the size of a pinhead (this operation can take up to a minute), expand its diameter until it becomes a large ball.

For example : Imagine a sphere that grows until it fills the room, expands to a size larger than your house or appartment, spreading in the sky towards the sun like radio waves. Then, make it expand towards other planets.

Then, imagine this wave propagating through the solar system… Then other solar systems until it reaches the border of the galaxy...Then take it as far as your imagination can take it.
When you believe you have reached a maximum (this operation can take up to a minute), go back to the opposite operation.
Do this exercise as many times as possible over the course of 10 minutes. Then, write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 6 : Experiment with associated rhythmic thoughts.

Visualize a ring inside of which there is another smaller ring. Imagine the larger ring sways, dragging the smaller one along but with a short lag time.
Duration of the exercise : 3 minutes.
Back

Test n° 7 : Regular alternated repetition of two concepts localised in space :

For example "earth" located down, and "sun", located up.
In order to do this, imagine you are on the earth, then imagine you are suddenly in the sky and vice versa.
Duration of the exercise : 3 minutes.
Back

Test n° 8 : Regular visual movement of two mental images.

This exercise consists in creating the representation of a regular movement from the earth (or the ground) towards space or the sky.

Imagine you leave the earth towards the sky or space at a faster and faster pace.
Go as far as your imagination can take you.
Duration of the exercise : 3 minutes
Back

2 - MENTAL SOUNDS

Test n° 9 : Produce a rhythmic mental sound. (The "key" Mantra).

At a pace as steady as possible, repeat the sound "key" for 30 seconds.
Then, for about 30 seconds, observe your state of mind.
Repeat this exercise over a period of 3 to 5 minutes. Then, write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 10 : Produce a mental sound on one side, then transfer your attention to the other side.

Example : Bring back the memory of a sound or a noise to your mind (a bell, a doorbell, an alarm clock) with the idea that it comes from your left side, during 30 secondes. Then for the next 30 seconds, transfer your attention to the opposite side (your right).
Repeat this exercise over a period of 3 to 5 minutes. Then, write down your observations
Back

Test n° 11 : Produce a mental sound growing fainter on one side, then transfer your attention to the opposite side.

Imagine, for example, the sound of a car moving away, or the sound of a train leaving a station. Then transfer your attention to the other side.
Repeat this exercise of a period of 3 to 5 minutes. Then, write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 12 : Produce a powerful mental sound on one side, then transfer your attention to the opposite side.

Imagine for example the sound of a car moving closer, or the sound of a train entering a station.
Repeat this exercise over a period of 3 to 5 minutes. Then, write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 13 : Repeat a word on one side, then transfer your attention to the opposite side.

Example : Repeat the word "flower" on one side for 30 seconds, then transfer your attention to the other side and passively observe what happens.
Back

Test n° 14 : Repeat a word on alternating sides (one side, then the other).

Examples :
      Planet - Galaxy.
      River - Flowers.
      Bird - Tree.
Duration of the exercise : 3 minutes. Then, write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 15 : Repeat mentally a word on one side, then visualize the actual object on the opposite side in alternation (switching sides between the word and the image).

Your eyes can move under your closed eyelids, it facilitates the exercise.
Duration of the exercise : 3 minutes. Then, write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 16 : Visualize an object on one side, then transfer your attention to the opposite side and observe your thoughts and sensations.

Imagine an object on one side, then observe the other side without any mental effort.
Duration of the exercise : 3 minutes. Then, write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 17 : Keep a mental sound in your mind, in a continuous fashion.

Duration of the exercise : 3 minutes. Then, write down your observations.
Back

Test n° 18 : Repeat a short phrase in your mind for a few minutes.

Duration of the exercise : 3 minutes. Then, write down your observations.
Back
