Thoughts are the first subjective sensations that we are conscious of and we are the only witnesses of our own thoughts. The fact that thoughts cannot be perceived by others has led certain behavioral scientists to state that individuals react only in function of exterior stimuli, and not in function of their own wills. It would seem that these "theoreticians" have never taken into account their own personal experiences.
We are more or less used to focusing our attention on the content of our thoughts. We rarely take them into account or we judge them harshly. But we know very little, or even nothing at all, about the laws that govern the behavior of thoughts.
Thoughts are organized according to the rhythms of the brain; they become richer in a fantastic manner if we let them evolve according to their nature, i.e., if we do not try to restrict them by applying the laws of mechanics.
We do not know how let thoughts remain flexible, as the resulting evolution often disturbs us.
To go further, we must learn to observe the behavior of our thoughts, in order to discover that they are not limited to the poor opinion that we have of them. The behavior which is unique to thoughts leads us to the threshold of an extremely rich subjective universe. For a first approach, at the end of each of the following the tests we will observe some of these characteristics.
Foreword: The purpose of these tests is to learn how be carried along by sensations in order to amplify the phenomena, and to go from strictly mental exercises to the perception of subjective sensations. Too often, beginners try to practice these techniques without knowing what to expect;
and even worse, they do so without being able to recognize the phenomena. To avoid these pitfalls, these tests allow one to get used to the immersion in a veritable subjective universe with its surprising nuances and richness. These tests are a means rather than an end.
The following tests are a kind of experiment that will enable you, if you play the game, to evaluate your aptitudes for evolving in the experiences or in the path of initiation.
You need to make sure that you have enough time to complete the tests (first part: Tests of thought observation can take 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete. The same is true for the second part: mental sounds).
There is no point starting the test if this condition is not filled.
Take a pencil and a piece of paper for writing down your observations.
When you are finished, go to the section "evaluation" in the "members" page to discover your aptitudes.
If you evaluate that the percentage of correct answers on the test is:
0% = Are you sure you want to go on with this practice? You should really think it over.
25% = You are not very gifted…. You will be able to experience “phenomena” from time to time; their evolution will probably prove difficult. Take the time to study the basics of Phosphenism again. A training course would be of use to you.
50% = You are restricting yourself too closely to the exercises. Take the time to observe what happens after each exercise.
75% = You are on the right path. After each exercise, spend an equal amount of time observing the rhythms that are provoked in your "visual chaos (aura)" and let yourself be carried along by your own cerebral rhythms.
85% = You have a real potential. Continue in the path of Phosphenism, and maintain your physiological rhythms (mental and physical): results will be seen very rapidly.
More than 85% = Your sharp sense of observation can only lead you to the awakening of your abilities…
